How do you find out flood history on a home?

So we are looking at a home in Hankamer tx and interested , we are being told it only flooded during Harvey 6 inches far as they know since they have only lived there for 5 years . I am doing some research and it seems its very hard to find out past claim history on it . I want to know if it has flooded in the past before them . It was built in 1995. Texas farm bureau is my insurance provider on current home and got a quote from them and the lady told me she had no way of knowing the flood history, seems crazy to me . Anyone have any tricks or info? Thanks in advance

Also if someone is really familiar with the 1663 road in hankamer and has any feedback let me know please, I know there was a few guys that know Hankamer really good

You won't be able to find "flood history" unless the previous owner discloses it.. but you should be able to get ahold of the claims history as far as insurance goes. If it had any major damage odds are it was has a previous insurance claim.

So basically there is no 100 percent way to find out how many times there has been a flood claim on this address since it was built in 1995?

Ask the neighbors that have been in the area for a while. Some of the older one will know if that spot is prone to high water.

yeah there are only a few neighbors around since its not in a neighborhood, but I thought about knocking on doors
