Anyone know what type of weed this is? More importantly, any tips on getting rid of it? Houston area, St. Augustine grass.

Virginia Button Weed... will take over your whole yard.
Buy Weed Beater Ultra and Turbo Spreader Sticker from Ace Hardware, it will turn black in about 2 days. Hope that helps.

Should we wait until fall or treat now in the heat?

Spot treat the areas, I just did and it killed the Virginia Buttonweed grass was still green.
