    Ice chest review

First, let me say I do not own a yeti ice maker, so I have no option, care or concern about any yeti products. Just goin by what I actually saw last weekend.

I own 2 "big" roto mold coolers, 60-72 qt. I cant exactly remember. An Ozark Trail and a Grizzly. Went out of town this past weekend. Both coolers had 1 level layer of drinks, then 2, 20# bags of ice. Both had food on top of the ice. Ice chests were packed Thursday nite. Sunday, all the ice was melted in the ozark. The water was ice cold, but no ice. The grizzly still has ice. Its Tuesday morning. I just drained water. Still has about 10-12# of ice. Not too bad! Way to go Grizzly

Grizzly makes a decent rotomold cooler. Ozark, not so much.

I don't own either and probably won't but was one cooler opened more than the other, such as did one have beer and not the other?

Look at your seal on the OT. The one I tried was put together junky at the seam in the back. It didn't hold ice worth a flip because it never got that "fridge" type seal..returned it and saw they all looked the same. That being said, I have a Yeti roadie that has the exact same issue. It will run water out if it tipes over.

I have a large grizzly cooler and it's horrible at holding ice. I always just thought they were junk. Maybe something is wrong with mine and i need to check the seal.

How often each one was opened?
Did they both get the exact same amount of direct sunlight?
Were the drinks/foods placed in at the start the same temps?

NASA does less calculations than some of these cooler tests.

ozark was opened maybe 3 times more than the grizzly

Did they both get the exact same amount of direct sunlight?

both were under a carport, in the shade for the most part. grizzly did see more sun

yes, packed at the same time

also, the weather was awesome! low 60s in the morning, mid 80s during the day. And, the ozark never left the house. the grizzly was taken out on the trail one day. in the back of the ranger from 8am til 5pm.

I have a couple of the Ozark trail coolers on my boat. I use 1 for a dry box and the other to hold drinks. It doesn't keep ice worth a darn. Good thing I got them on clearance.

I got my OT at a resale shop for $50. It was missing a drain plug. It may not hold ice like a yeti or grizzly or whatever, but its dang sure alot better than some igloos and Coleman's I've owned. I would buy another OT if it was a really good deal.
