    Help with FOC

Looking for any help/direction adjusting my FOC. Trying to get much heavier.

I shoot gold tip 500 should be 7.3 grain per inch. My arrows are 24”.
My thought was to get 200gr inserts and shoot a 125gr Broadhead but I heard this may make my arrow not fly straight? I was hoping maybe at short enough arrows I wouldn’t need to upgrade them. Any help would be great.

Use an FOC calculator and input the insert weight, point weight and arrow length and it will tell you if your arrow spine is up to par.

You’re going to need a stiffer spiced shaft to use that much weight up front.

I’ve got some arrows that are 350’s that I can try as well.

For South Africa I set up Easton hexx 330’s at 28” with 75gr brass inserts and 100gr broadheads That I was shooting at 60 pounds. With 325gr up front you’re going to need a stiff spine. If the arrows are only 24” then the 350 might work, but don’t be surprised if you have to go heavier. Try putting some numbers in a calculator and see what it says.

so ive got a two 350 arrows. put a 150 grain and 225 grain insert in both with a 125grain field tip. Showing my FOC to be 21 and 26, respectively. They shot well at ten yards tonight.

THIS! I just ordered some arrows from him, if he can't guide you in the right direction then I don't know who can.

10 yards with a fp might work, but put a BH on it at 20 and tell us what it does. 2nd, 3rd or 4th Muddyfuzzy for the correct arrow!
I have been doing this BH bit since 1971 an have owned a shop for 10-11 years (but many years ago) and Muddy is the man!

I’m not a fan of FMJ’s either. Why spend so much money on an arrow that bends every time it hits ground and it’s weak point is the front of the arrow? I’ve thrown away 3 dozen FMJ’s shoot pigs at the old lease a few years back. Shooting 550gn Sirius Apollo’s with a 125gn Magnus Hornet Ser-Razor now and I’m punching shoulder plates like it’s nothing. Same arrow and broad head (after resharpening)has gone through 6 hogs....to each there own. Whatever makes you the most confident!

I got some black eagle carnivores from muddy. While they hit hard and group well theyve been a one animal arrow.

I have an fmj with 4 deer under it. The only time I've broke one on an animal was a pig when he turned and hit the feeder leg
