    Fifth wheel question

Helping a family member out and buying her 2008 Jayco Eagle Super Lite 285 fifth wheel. My question is does anyone know what size generator these things can run on? Just fridge, ac and normal lighting, occasional microwave and blow dryer for the wife. I have only seen pictures of it so not sure if it’s a dual or single ac. Everything I have read in that year model manual says it’s a 50 amp and it says it has one 13500 ac but I have no idea. Is there a such thing as a 50 amp generator or are all campers adapted and ran off 30amp? I know very little about RV’s to be honest but plan to use it come hunting season. Any help is appreciated.

If its 50 amp and one ac can b plugged into power pole like at rv park. Generators are 30 amp. Cord for traile should b a 59 Mp cord but can get a 30 amp adapter at rv place. Jmo but I would go with a 5500 to 6500 watt generator. Better to have a little more power than u need. Coffee pots draw 1500 watts and microwave 1000 and not sure what a blow dryer draws. Important thing is dont run to much at the same time on a smaller generator. Can run ac and coffee pot at same time but not everything. I have a general brand ant its a 9375/7500 watt continous run. Will run almost everything at once but I don't recommend turning on everything at same time. Will trip a breaker or blow a fuse.

Forgot, if it has 2 ac's you can only run one at a time cause generator is 30 amp. If it has one then trailer will b a ducted ac and generator will run it great. Hope all this helps

First step, figure out how many amps the AC units are drawing. For us, both AC's pull 14.4 amps each. So if we are at an RV park with 30 amp service, we turn the fridge to gas operation, and can fire up both AC's. Noting else in our trailer pulls enough amps to trip the breaker. If we are at a 50 amp park, everything can stay electric.

We have a 38' TT, but have recently gone through this same exercise. We have a Honda 3000, which is 23 amps and I think 3000 watts. We have dual AC. We can only fire up one AC, as each AC uses 14.4 amps. We are also considering getting a soft start set up (I haven't researched a whole lot yet), which keeps the AC unit from peaking out and tripping the generator.
