    Skype Screw up.

My work PC here at home doesn't like Skype. Everything works, but I can't hear anything. So, my workaround is to log into the meeting, and then call in on my cell so I can hear. It works ok but I have to remember to hang up two devices when the meeting is over.

Well..... that step in the procedure just got missed, and they all got an ear full.

I hung up on my PC and pulled my earphones out of my ear an dropped my phone in my pocket, then started complaining about how stupid the meetings are. Talked smack about how a lot of people just liked to hear themselves talk, and how I just wasted a hour. I went to the bathroom and sat down, pulled my phone out to check TBH and saw I was still logged into the meeting.

Opps.... I just hope they all thought it was funny.

Zoom hangs up both devices when you leave a meeting so if you use both apps you have to be careful to remember which on your on.

We’ve been using MS Teams since April and I like it better than other of the others we’ve tried. Good luck on your job search. [emoji6][emoji6]

Normally we use TEAMs, but this customer wanted Skype. TEAMs works great.

I hope my next employer uses TEAMs.

We just switched to TEAMS a couple of weeks ago. I just log on about two minutes before the meeting and go ride around the plant for 30 minutes.

I know a couple of guys who were fired after something similar had happened. We would have weekly sales meetings that were redundant and pretty much useless but the bosses liked to hear themselves talk.

Well the guys weren't very bright and they were chatting back and forth through their work account/hangouts discussing how stupid and pointless the meetings were. They were both terminated within 24 hrs as someone was apparently monitoring their accounts.

Hopefully everyone else had already hung up so they didn't hear it. I got a good conference call screw up for you...

About a month or so ago, I was on a conference call with probably 30 people or so and the PM is going through his stuff, talking about the project and so on. This PM is particularly mono toned and really knows how to drag out a meeting. So after about 30 minutes, I'm really working hard just to stay awake and pay attention. Add a little more time to that and it's becoming a heck of struggle. About 40 minutes in, the PM was interrupted by a women's voice making a very, shall we say distinctive and easily recognizable sound! Type of sound usually reserved for behind closed doors ...I was instantly brought back to full attention . I haven't sat up that quick since boot camp. I had to fight so hard not to unmute my phone and make some kind of smart *** comment. The struggle was real that day! There was about a 15 second silence before the monotone PM finally broke it and said "bless you." Which was immediately followed by someone else saying "you thought that was a sneeze?" Best and most comical conference call I've ever personally been apart of.

good luck on the job search, lots of folks hiring right now

My last company we had monday morning and friday afternoon calls. Everyone agreed they were bs but the vp like to hear himself talk so we always dialed in (100% remote sales team). One of the calls my buddy in MN forgot to hit mute and he has a very distinct northern MN accent. We all listened to him order beers and complaint to his friend he was at the bar with about his dumb *** vp who must hate his family so this is why he wastes everyone's time and does these meetings to get away from them... it was a good 2-3 min rant that everyone was silent for and then you heard "Oh F***" and shuffling until it went quiet.

I missed working with Mike after that

Just blame it on the “Rona,” and the “social strain theory,” and your golden!!!
