    Recommendations on release

Headed to NM soon (was just notified last minute) for an elk hunt. I normally shoot a Carter chocolate but am thinking a thumb release may not be the best option for hiking around stalking elk. What wrist strap release do you recommend?

You'll hear a few options. I just picked up the B3 Alpha from Scheels in The Colony yesterday and I really like it. Coming from a TruFire Smoke.

The overall quality of the B3 feels fantastic and I like the feel of the trigger. In any case, head over to Scheels or wherever and try some out. I also tried thE TruFire Hardcore Buckle Foldback but it was $30-40 more and the B3 did everything it did.

I'm taking my thumb release. Its what I shoot with all year so I'm.not changing anything. It has a paracord wrist loop that I never use but I likely will in 2 weeks. Lol

I use a spothogg wiseguy. However..if I was comfortable shooting my thumb release.. I would add paracord or something to keep using it.

I use a thumb all the time. Take a spare or two. I’m really liking my brass Stan but they ain’t cheap.

Stick with the thumb release if that is what you are used to.

Tru Fire edge extreme on elk hunts. I can’t lose it if it’s strapped on. Always carry a spare as well.
