    Wifi booster- any experience?

Our detached garage is about 20 ft from the house and at the back of it is a work room that I’d like to make into my office. In total it’s probably 50-60 ft from the house. Does anyone have experience with a wifi booster so I can get reception wifi out there?

AT&T has a WiFi booster for $50. It works very well. I’m not sure who your WiFi provider is.

I've tried a few different brands. Linksys worked best for me. Belkin, not so much

I don't know if ATT has them, but Xfinity has a 3 pack of pods you can place around the house. I couldn't believe the improvement in my wifi connection.

I went with a google mesh wifi system and it's been great. It's pricey but should easily fix your problem.

We bought the package from EERO and I haven't heard 1 kid complain since.

Google. Install it and never have to worry about going from one end of the house to the other. The Eero above works great as well. Mesh is the way to go though.

what others have said(nest). get a new router with satellite(boosters) routers. really increases your target area.

You could also use something like this.

It uses the romex/power wires in your house to make a LAN connection.

Just a thought, so you don’t have to worry about a boosted wireless signal. And if you still need wireless, its not a boosted signal but maybe a wireless access point instead.

good: outdoor wifi range extender $
                        better: wireless mesh $$$
best: Run a co-ax to the garage and connect a router with Moca 2.0
Router has to be configured with DHCP disabled and to the same SSID $$$

I just did this and was definitely impressed with the distance I was able to stretch it.

I took the first advice and ordered one of ATT’s boosters. It’s $50 so I’m not out a lot if it doesn’t work. Should be here in a few days. I just contacted them over chat. It looks like I could’ve picked it up from the Att store too. They said I can either run a Ethernet cord from the router or just use as the booster. I’ll likely try to run an Ethernet line out to the garage and then plug it in.

                            Thanks for all the advice.

If you can find an AT&T store open you can pick one up there. It’s called an Air Tie. It’s like having an extra modem in your house.

You may be able to order one on Att.com. I’m not sure though
