    ? about Browning trail cameras

I have all Browning trail cameras and some of the PIR lens have been destroyed by woodpeckers. Problem is I have 3 different model trail cameras that need the lens. I can get lens for 2 of the models, but I have 4 of the same model that need lens and Browning is out of stock and not sure when they are going to get anymore.

? is, will the cameras work without the PIR lens or am I out of luck until they are restocked?

    Maybe this will help:

Figured it out. The "lens" that the woodpeckers are hammering is a Fresnel lens actually protecting the PIR sensor. It will still take pics, but may not be the best. All I need to do is to find some Fresnel lens material and I think I can rig a covering for this season.

When the woodpeckers pecked out my lense the camera still worked but got a lot of blank pics. They finally came back in stock for my camera and it is back working good again.

I have half a dozen with dry rotted lens covers. Us there a way to replace them? I think the top of the camera is sealed?

Browning sells the PIR lens cover for 8.99 per cover, but a bunch are not in stock. Get on Brwoning's sight and search for PIR lens, it will show you what covers they have and can order. If I find some dark brown Fresnel lens material that will work I will let you know. Being retired, I have time to do a lot of searching on the net.

Same here need new lens on some of mine. Don’t understand why the sand woodpeckers like to break that lens?
