Dont forget about Pluckers. Also, students can go golf at The Bandit in New Braunfels for $20 with student ID. Great course and price point. The University 9 hole course is no longer there. Don'ts: Parking downhill of campus

I have an BS and MS from SWT.... (late 90's) so my information is pretty dated. My wife is also a graduate. Campus enrollment has grown substantially since then as have admission standards. My son is looking at attending next year.

Herbert's is a classic. Insider tip, the food is the same and is served in three presentations- flat, folded or in a pile.

The river is spectacular. Go do some tubing.

Campus rec and workout facility is really nice.

Learn the buildings before setting a schedule. You can walk uphill both ways on that campus.

Like all colleges- there is a party scene. I don't think TxState is that much different than most other colleges though. The 'party school' image from the '80's really hung around for a long time though.
