My drinking water comes from the mill. I’m surprised people mentioned grasshoppers. I would think the bream would steal them all pretty quick

The yellow sludge, and the bright green crap, aren't from wetting logs.

Blood line in 3 or 4 feet of water just below the surface baited with blood and run every hour.

If you have perch available, I will suggest targeting yellow cats instead if going through the trouble of setting trot lines. Best eating cat out there. Size doesn’t matter with them.

If you are going to be there awhile might put some bream traps out narrow throat if you want to keep them small. You have a chance to field test all these baits mentioned and then tell us what works. Some guys here at work have a camp at Thomas Lake maybe they got a secret to share.

My uncle has a camp at Thomas lake as well. He swears by sonny’s for pole fishing. I’m interested in they’re responses. I’ve herd of some people out that way mixing sonny’s and a dab of 2 cycle oil.

We fish the Sulfur all the time, and have tried everything for bait. Night crawlers and no 5 stainless trotline hooks with Budget Tackles Catfish clips are our go to rigs. The clips you get from Walmart and Academy have too many twist offs. Threading nightcrawlers on circle hooks is a pain too. Only use those with live or cut bait ( mostly cut up drum we catch on our worm lines.) Blues like cutbait, Op’s Like live bait, channels (90 % of what we catch, prefer night crawlers. Pretty much all we use any more is night crawlers.
