Fish east bay or make a run?

Howdy! The family is staying on Bolivar this weekend. Going to take the boat down there. Has anyone done any good in east bay or should we make a run to west?

Deep reefs in east bay is where I would be for trout this time of year. For reds run further east towards Sabine.

This time of year, I'd whole lot more want to be in East than West. fish the reefs out in the middle of the bay... If you're a hardware fisherman, rig up a purple/chartreuse large DSL on a 1/4 oz jig head and fish it deep on the reef. If you got kiddo's get you some gulp/new Penny or natural/chartreuse tail and fish about 3' deep under a rattling popping cork. If you're on Bolivar, put in at Sting-O-Ree and go straight thru the cut and into the bay and fish the reefs as you make your way towards the mouth of the bay... Frenchies, Deep and Hannah's are all in that direction. Plenty of white markers on the reefs. If you have electronics, just fish the down tide direction of the reefs. You'll be good. Watch for bait and birds...

Bull reds have been blowing up the surf like crazy over the weekend huge schools of them boiling the water.
