    Goose decoys

Anybody with any experience hunting big Canada geese up north. If so would you prefer 5 doz silhouettes or 2-3 dozen full bodies?

No experience hunting them up north, so take it for what it's worth, I'd go with 3 dozen FB over 5 dozen silhouettes.

I would probably take 3 dozen full bodies over 5 dozen solos unless I had to carry everything in a long ways! I’ve killed a 18 wheeler load of dark geese over silos but we usually had at least 20 dozen in the ground.

I would take 30 doz sllos set correctly over any spread of fullbodies. Remember, when you are hunting large birds to spread them out more. We used to take 2 big steps between decoys for greaters. Make it look like a big group of smaller family groups loafing and eating in the field.

I wish 30 doz was an option. Everything has to fit in the bed of the truck to hunt ducks and geese for a week. So their isn’t much room. Primarily chasing ducks over pot holes and setting something up for the geese. In the past it’s just been a handful of goose decoys but trying to get a few more this trip. And trying to figure out the best way to do it.

All our buddies up there use full bodies.

They all have decoy trailers towed by 4x4s. The ground is typically frozen so its bot a big deal driving in the fields.

              Are we all talking honkers?

Ive never hunted or have seen anyone use 20 to 30 dozen decoys for honkers. That would take up a lot of real estate if you set them up the way honkers get all spread out.

Yes honkers up in the prairie pot hole region.
