Mike Rowe, of Dirty Jobs, wrote a book called "The way I heard it". Short stories about people and instances in history. A story about Mel Brooks was the first story in the book and was about his trials getting to be a director in Hollywood. The book is worth a read!

He has a podcast doing these too. He has put out over 160 episodes. Good stuff and they are only about 15 minutes each so an easy listen.
