I've been fortunate to hunt some very good places in Texas. From my personal experience with them is that ALL were able to produce 140 inch deer or better. This is from 3 counties in the South Plains (Dickens, Crosby, Motley), 2 counties in Southeast Central Texas (Limestone, Falls), and 1 in East Texas (Walker). Now on some of these places it took years of protein and the right amount of rain but it happened. On most of the places referenced above I could say 150 inches or better but not all have topped that number yet. I'm posting this because I hear folks all the time say the deer aren't big in a particular county or area. Well let's be honest, because most of them don't reach maturity. Now it's a fact that not every buck will reach 140 inches, but there will be some in each county/area that can if maturity is reached. Just some interesting facts I thought I'd share about different areas across our great state
