Carry a machete and a push pole.

I had to get out on the bank to set a line and a machete would have been nice. The push pole is handy to steady the boat while you stab the line anchor in

Do we need a hammer to drive the stake in ground to hold rope. i know the cane pole you could just stick in ground.

JD murphy will provide all you need but the line, hook and bait. And actually they had some hooks and line for sale when I went for 15 bucks.

They will have cane poles and 'T's made of rebar to shove into the ground. Set all the way its more than enough for the largest lizard. Stick rebar in ground, loop line around and then clip off bait to cane pole.

I will say my wife grabbed a cane pole that must have been 25 foot long. We got set with a canal at the end of the property with steep banks. We ended up having to angle the can pole almost parallel to keep it from going to the opposite bank.

They also let us leave the boat by the office over night which was better than leaving it at the hotel. The guys on the WMA were some of the best Ive dealt with on draw hunts.

edit....Take an old blanket to soak in water to cover your gators with if you plan the skinner. I actually put 80lbs of ice in the bottom of my boat and put out gators on

          29°51'11.7"N 94°01'54.3"W

          29°51'57.2"N 94°02'01.1"W

          29°51'23.6"N 94°01'53.7"W

29°49'24.2"N 94°01'28.6"W there were quite a few in the open areas of the lake here

29°47'44.6"N 94°01'08.8"W this is the canal we hunted. After we tagged two of the 3 biologist said they had seen a giant in there. Right at the mouth just a few days before. This was last year....

I dont really think its gonna matter where you set really. The first evening we didnt see a bunch but the next morning there where so many cruising we hit one in the boat when he came up
