How often to replace Hang on

I have had the same hang on on my tree for about about a decade now and am starting to worry about the integrity of the cables and the bolts. I replace the straps every year or so but was wondering how often y’all replace the stands or replace the bolts and cables. With 3 kids I can’t afford to have this thing snap on me because the bolts rusted through.

    Thanks so much.

I may be overkill but if mine was 10 years old and it looked the least bit weathered, I’d replace it. Absolutely not worth risking your life for $150.

It would really depend on what it looked like visually to me.

Most high end stands have replaceable parts. If bulk buy cheaper stand I’d scrap it and replace

Like mentioned, I ain’t dying over a $40 stand to kill a deer

Take it down and thoroughly inspect, or just replace. I'd also recommend not leaving it up for more than a couple of weeks.

And a fall arrest system at all times.

If you are questioning it. Replace it. I would say if left up year round. A thorough inspection needed regularly before use. And replace every 3-4 years. Also depends on the environment it lives in.

I hang mine before season and pull down after. Give it a good inspection and check the bolts/straps beforehand. I replace mine every 4-5 years.

Thanks for the feedback. I used to take it down at the end of every season but have been busier over the past few years. I actually have other stand I haven’t even assembled so replacing will be easy.

IF it has been in a tree for 10yrs you have been literally living on the edge

Should be grown into the tree by now
