    Best at home espresso machine

I am not a coffee drinker but my wife loves the stuff and loves espresso. So for her birthday coming up looking at getting her a countertop or at home machine. Anybody have one? Any brand they suggest that is reasonable? Say $500 or less? Know nothing about these things other than she like them and has mentioned in passing she want one but hasn't actually researched it.

Will these take regular grounds or should I buy her a special bag of her favorite flavor in a different ground type?

    Appreciate the help in advance.

          We have a Cephelon (sp?)
absolutely LOVE it. It was about as much as I could justify spending, but totally worth it.
I'll see if I can find the link.

Most women take one look at me and want to do some crazy stuff. I don’t need any stinking fancy coffee drink. Lol

We’ve got a nespresso. Wouldn’t say it’s the best as those machines can cost several $k! It’s good enough for us and easier to use than most others. It used to be you could only use the neapresso pods. Recently more companies have started making the pods, so that helps with variety and cost.

Nespresso(original line) Best option for less than $1k.

Great crema, the oringal line is cheaper and there on aftermarket options

I bought this one for my wife for Christmas. Didn't want to spring big bucks incase we got tire of it. We use it pretty much everyday and it has hung in there. I thought I bought it from Sam's but did not see it online. I did just look it up on Amazon. $270

Delonghi EC680M Dedica 15-Bar Pump Espresso Machine, Stainless Steel

And we just use a course ground coffee.

Another vote for Nespresso. Have had a Citiz for 8 or so years. Love it. Reliable and makes a great espresso. A real treat. Machine is $249.

And their Nespresso pods are fun. Tons of flavor choices from all over the world. You can set up automatic orders as well, which is super convenient. Coffee pods are around $1.10 as an average and espresso pods are around $0.85. Original line is a bit cheaper.

Go with Miele! Man, they are nice but $500 wont touch one unless you can find one that is stolen. Haven’t tried the others.
