    Post hole auger for FEL

I wondering if anyone is running a post hole auger on their FEL. My ground is so dry and hard you cant hardly get an 3 point auger to dig.

I have a 140hp tractor with a FEL and was looking for recommendations on an auger for it.

The ones I always see are Beltec. With that big a tractor you've got the flow to git er done. I've seen a 36" auger in use on my place on one of those beltecs and they are impressive.

Ive had pretty good luck with my 3 point auger if I dig one scoop deep with my post hole digger first. Helps center the auger to exactly where you want the hole as well.

I have a premier with 9 and 12” bits. It is the 10-20 gpm model so I can use it on both my 55hp and 100hp tractor. It’s kind of slow turning on my 55 due to the lower flow, but it has no problem digging and the tractor is much handier in tighter spots. On the 100 hp, you better watch where you put your hands because it’s about to dig some dirt. They’re so much better than a 3-point... downforce is your friend.

The main reason I would want it is to set 3.5" pipe for fence corners. What size auger would you guys suggest for that?

I run a 9” bit for corner posts that size.

Sounds like Beltec on 3 pt run off rear hydraulics is the answer but not cheap.

My neighbor has beltec driver for 3pt that drives 2 3/8 posts, he drive 6 ft or more and welds on more pipe but he is a perfectionist

Just FYI if you want to save yourself some money you can convert an old 3pt one to a hydraulic front mount with a little Fab work and a hyd 540rpm motor from baileys hydraulics or someone like that.

I have a rhino brand hyd auger. And like others have said its the only way to go. Plus you can look forward the whole time and see what your doing.
