2020 Saltwater Thread Part II

I hope your right Leemo, your back there enough. it should be good when this is gone. The prairie east of Sargent is flooded bad.

I live NE of Sargent 10 miles or so, we’ve had less than 3” of rain up to this point. Tide is just really high. This was this morning at our river house on the Bernard, that’s just storm surge.

I don't think the shrimp will come out until the water drops well below average level. Like always, it'll be when we finally start getting some cool fronts that drop the water level and water temps. It was already humped up higher than normal before the storm surge. What little rain we are getting ain't squat compared to all the saltwater pushed in. It'll drain out and we'll be right back where we left off.

If nothing else it gives the bay a good flushing though.

Sargent is flooded as bad as I've seen it in over 30 years. I have two feet of water over my property. Hurrican Claudette was the last time it's been this high. It's not rain, it's tide.

2 days into fishing port Mansfield so far. Lots and lots of redfish on plastics and topwaters. Dsl purple reign on a 1/8oz title shot shorty head has been the ticket!
Trout have been tough to find in numbers, but a few good ones have snuck in here and there. Tomorrow finding trout will be our focus.
