They don't dissolve, they emit an electrical signal that over stimulates a sensory organ that rays have that game fish do not, supposedly runs the rays off without effecting other fish.

We hammered them yesterday at Surfside. Bite didn't come on until around 8am and it was nonstop after that. Had a handful of 20's with most being 15-18. This morning we only managed 6 keepers. Tons of throwbacks....

Sight casted a few reds in ankle deep water this evening fished for 2 hours saw a bunch of reds but only caught a few shorts.
