    Kayaking/fishing with my son

Had the opportunity to hit a stretch of the Guadalupe River Sunday morning to get after some catfish and get away from the masses. My boy also wanted to try out his new Hula Popper frog since we were gonna be on the river at day break. We had checked this particular spot out on the preceding Thursday just to see what the river level was. Of course, we took our poles and some hot dogs in case it looked like fishing might happen. Well, it happened and we caught a few decent fish that evening, so Sunday came with much anticipation. The rest is in pics and video below:

There's nothing that compares to getting out of the house and spending time in God's country!

Very cool, I want a kayak so bad, but I have to be honest with my self. I know I won’t use it . My sons are grown and have their own things to do, enjoy it while you can. They grow up fast.

You know, I told my wife that I appreciated her not minding have fish cleaned on the kitchen island. She reminded me that I've butchered plenty of deer on the kitchen table!

I don't use it as much as I want but I'm sure glad I have the tandem. I do have an 11' Pescador single I'd get out in if my son didn't want to go out. It is much funner with him, and easier to just take one kayak. Yes, he'll be grown and gone in the blink of an eye, I just hope it's a slow blink...

The old Hula Popper, boy does that bring back memories. I can make myself slow down long enough to fish one these days. Great memories yall are creating together.
