Watched a bad one this weekend....The Bear Whisperer, Blaine Anthony. He was in Texas deer hunting. It was brutal. I don't know how it even makes the tv cut.

Watched ol uncle ted make a bad one last night. Ended up being an almost Texas heart shot. Too low poundage and too far of a shot equaled an azz shot. He found it but played it off like he was good with the shot. [emoji849]
watched ol booger bottom himself make what looked like a **** good shot on an elk at 70 yards but the elk ran “over a mile” and he had to put another arrow in him, which they showed. I appreciated that way more than the uncle ted footage even though, currently, I’d never take a 70 yard shot on a game animal. Varmint probably.
Sierracharlie out…

They seem to take too many marginal shots just because they have to to get the footage. Also drives me nuts when they let them sit overnight even with a well placed shot. I think they just want to make sure to get the recovery during daylight for the quality. They put good footage over recovering the meat before the yotes get to them. I agree with the above. Hunting Public and Hushin.

I have only been watching Meat eater lately , the show where he showed what the cameramen go through while filming was interesting.
I know they have to sell products but some of these shows are over the top. As I sit in my Lazyboy recliner , watching Meat Eater on my LG TV and Dish Network , drinking my Coke Zero , holding my Apple IphoneLast edited by alec73065; 07-20-2020, 01:15 PM.

Years ago, when I still used to watch hunting shows on TV on Saturday or Sunday mornings, don't remember when they came on. I think Sunday mornings. I noticed on more than one occasion. They would be filming a deer as it was shot. I would see a bad hit, often a gut shot. Then they would recover the deer or whatever and show a nice clean shoulder shot, sometimes they would be showing a bullet hole on the opposite side from where the deer was originally hit and then claim that was the entrance hole and the guy made a great shot. Always a great shot.
Then sometimes, they would replay the shot a couple of times. I kind of wondered if that was a way of making sure the audience saw the bad shot and knew the gest hunter gut shot the deer. But then they say on the show, how great of a shot he made. Basically kiss azz, make an attempt to make it look like the gest made a good shot, but then repeatedly show the bad hit, just to make sure people know. A few times I wish I knew the inside story. Were they really trying to get the audience to believe the guy made a good shot or just trying to make the guy feel great, while laughing at him, behind his back.

There are a few I still watch on occasion and except that most edit the video's to please the faint of heart audiences.
But funny you bring this up, Sunday evening Breck was watching the Outdoor channel and as I was walking through the living area I hear Breck say, "Gut Shot".......
I turn to the TV to see the replay of the shot and sure enough, all gut......then showed the buck hunch up and slow walk to the edge of the field where it laid down real easy like. Next seen is the hunter narrating to the camera and referencing how the buck barley made it out of the field before he went down. "Buck did not go 100 yards before he went down, no tracking needed".
I just had to shake my head and tell Breck, don't you wish a gut shot deer would just go 100 yards and fall over dead where we hunt........Lordy....
Filmed the recovery but never showed anything except zoomed in head and horns while the hunter held the horns. .
