    Solve a mystery!

Can anyone tell me what these are so I can tell another investigator? They're some type of criminal instrument...recovered off a crook who isn't talking. Any ideas what they could be used for?

      Nose Picks or Butt scratchers?

Seriously to me they look like they could be used to pope the ignition on a car and start it.

Hard to tell from the pics. Are they electronic in nature?

Here's my guess - looks like a "reach in and grab and pull" tool - used when your fingers aren't long enough

auto thief - used to open up the hood on a car maybe ????

regular thief - used to pull window apart at the joint to pop the lock open ????

              now I really can't sleep -

Going off of what Atfulldraw was leaning towards-

The two on the left look like they could be used to unlock the doors on the older trucks/ vans with the smaller front flip out front windows.

Sort of looks like the device a well known jewel thief from Canada invented for cutting round holes in glass to steal diamond from display windows of closed jewelry stores. A diamond glass cutter would be attached to the arm and then the handle turned cutting a hold for an arm to reach in and scoop out the jewelry. They could do it with people walking by and never be detected. He eventually robbed the crown jewels of Germany.

Could you put a scale or something next to the items to get a feel for their size? are they rigid or flexible? close up of the ends would help as well....unless you have already discovered their use.

I have no idea, but it might be helpful if we could get a close up of the ends. Are the ones on the right threaded on the far end? Do they all fold up? Is that a toothpick on the very tip? Is that end put together with electrical tape?

Looks like they are held together with tape and thread, these could not fit in any locks that I know of. I am with the jail house tattoo idea myself or for cleaning out a crack pipe.

It looks like the top part swivels into a handle. The white ones loof like they were once tooth brushes. Could be a flux capacitor.
