Tell me a little about Monarch deer feeders....

Seems with the drive up discount and cash discount it is the best price for large capacity (500lb) feeder on the net.......curious as to their durability.

I was looking at the Texas Hunting Products but I was a little disappointed in their 650 lb feeder that " is shown with optional 8' legs" and when asked how long their standard legs were I was told they were 2' stub legs aka what we call mounts......and it'll cost you another $100 for legs tall enough to feed..

No biggie, I may go back and look at them but heard some good things about the Monarchs.

Looking for a large capacity feeder to save some trips during the offseason.

And thanks for your help savingme some time with trial and error.....trying to buy everything just once and want to get quality.

    Top Notch

I've had my Monarch feeders for 6 years now with the only issued being caused by vadalism. They are well built and durable. Good investment

I live about 2 miles from Monarch in Arlington. I have never owned or used one, but they seem very sturdy and durable. You'll pay for it no doubt, but if it's in your budget they seem very well made. I always get my soybean there because it's convenient and they usually have it in stock. If you're ever looking into hog traps, I know where you can get the same model for a little bit cheaper.

I bought 2 of the 500# feeders and 3 new 12v motors last summer. They all worked and continue to work flawlessly. The staff were also a real pleasure to work with over the phone and flowing the sale.

They make good stuff - but I hate those timers - they make the display say "OFF" when it is really "ARMED"

Maybe they have fixed this little problem, but it always bothered me

THP on the other hand probably has the easiest to program feeder on the market, IMO

My Monarch 12v feeders are 2 years old now and I have never had to do anything to them other than fill them up.

Like top pin said, the staff over there has always been great.

The one I have works fine, but is a pain to set. You have to set an on time and a off time for 1min later. Also you cant control how long it throws for different times. One knob controls it and is same for all. Other than that it is well built.

We had nothing but problems with them, but then agian, this was over ten yrs. ago. Timers were horrible.

Outback feeders are by far the best we have used, we have over 20 feeders feeding year round. The "West TX Feeder Supply" spin casters are awesome as well.

I have a monarch and am very happy with it. The timer setup is a poor design but once you convince yourself to do things backwards your ok.

I've had the Monarchs for 6 years and they have never missed a lick. The timers are the same ones that Spincast used so I was already used to the set up and it did not bother me. I have a couple Monarchs and a couple HCR,. The Monarchs have been more reliable than anything else I have ever used.

I bought 2 big Cabelas feeder 2 yrs ago and they are working great. I haven't had any issues what so ever. The only bad thing about them is putting them together. It was either that or the case of beer I drank while putting them together. Oh, the other thing to take in consideration is moving them. They won't break down like a barrel feeder will. The capacity says 400# but they will actually hold 500# of corn or protein. I think they are around $350. Plus the ladder is built in.
                      Might be worth a look.
By the way, there are a couple of monarch feeders on our lease and they work well also.

Monarch makes a very good product. THey have made some changes to their timers and they also have a new digital one that is very easy to use. Talk to Rusty and he will take care of you.

                            Monarch Feeders

I have been using the same 1000# monarch feeder for over 8 years now. It has never given me any trouble. As stated before, the timer was actually designed for monarch from a couple of spin cast engineers.
Mine runs year round, the timer has been shot with a shotgun and the main tank has been shot with a rifle(vandalism) and the thing has just kept on going. Every couple of years I have to change the rechargable battery out. It is the 6 volt version, but with the height I get a good spread pattern and the ladder of a leg with the platform makes for easy filling. Wish I could afford a couple more of them.
