    Weber gas vs Rectec Pellet

My old gas grill is ready to be replaced. We cook on gas during the week for convenience. Have an offset pit, a big green egg, and a weber kettle for weekends depending on what we are cooking.

As I look at grill options, I have narrowed down to 3:

    1. Weber Genesis 3 burner
    2. Weber Spirit 3 burner
    3. Rectec pellet grill

Is the Weber genesis worth the extra $ over the Spirit? Is the rectec good at grilling/searing?

Where is the best deal on weber gas grills? Costco has a pretty nice genesis right now

    Weber gas vs Rectec Pellet

I can’t speak to a Weber gas grill as I have only used the charcoal Kettle in the past. I have had my RECTEC; 700 Bull, for about eight months and it’s the best purchase I’ve made in a long time. Great product, great service after the sale and it performs just as advertised. They are really two different pieces of cooking equipment, if you do a lot of high heat cooking then the gas may be the best thing. If you like to do a lot of low and slow cooking and like to use the grill as an oven then the RECTEC is pretty nice.

Why not compare the Weber pellet to the Rec tec?

I don`t believe the weber pellet is in the same class as the Rec Tec. JMO. I have a weber Genesis S330 and a Rec Tec 590 and would not trade either. They all have their strong points. I have an offset that I do not plan on getting rid of either. I usually only smoke on the Rec Tec at low temps. I use the Weber for burgers and such.

Sounds like you have the smoke stuff handled. Id get another gas grill. I have a pellet and a 3 embers gas grill. Even as easy as the pellet oven is I still use the gas grill more. And yes, ive been more than pleased with the 3 embers from TSC

I have the Weber Genesis SS 3 burner with searing station and the side stations on each side of the grill. It is the best propane grill I have ever owned.

I would not fancy myself a grillmaster by any means but for general grilling I have no complaints.

                I would lean this way.

I have been thinking about getting the Cookshack PG500. Seems like the best of both worlds.

I tend to agree here unless you just want to add a pellet one to the toolbox. Between offset, BGE and WK, you can smoke pretty much anything you want. Having a nice gas grill to jump on quickly and grill something is nice. I have your same arsenal minus the BGE and did dinner last night on the Weber Genesis. Have thought about a pellet grill for years now but just can't make myself pull the trigger. Plus the patio is getting full!
