Yes, a bullet will ricochet off an animals head.

It is possible but I have shot hundreds of pigs in the head and have never had it happen. Have never had one take a step.

My sister has a skull with a hole in the head that is half filled back in and a bullet lodged in the jaw. She killed it with a 30-30, bullet through both lungs

Exactly what I was thinking. Wait until they put their head down to root or eat then the ricochet factor goes out the window.

I have shot them with .270 between the eyes and if the shot impacts slightly high, it will cut a furrow and not penetrate the sloping skull. Usually, the impact will knock them down but they are immediately back on their feet. Yes, I am sure they have a headache...

Probably parted his hair real good but definitely not a solid hit.

I have had a bullet deflect off of the skull of a boar many years ago, with a 44 Mag. Shot it from the front. took a bunch of flesh off. Not long after that, a guy we took hunting did the same thing with a 270 Win. I know of a few others that had the same thing happen. So that is a shot I prefer not to take.

I’ve shot pigs in the head with everything from a 22 to a 458 Socom and I’ve never had a bullet deflect.

Shoot a real hunting round for better results

Shot one with a .270 in the ear. Blew both eyes out like blueberries. Daughter took pics with it and we went to get truck to load. Dropped tailgate and it jumps to its feet and sprints into the woods. Found it the next morning in some sort of “nest” it had made. It bolted out and I shot from the hip with a .22 rifle and hit it just above the knee in a full run. Flipped it dead! The hog had blue flies already coming out of its skull from the evening before

They are a whole bunch of skull with a small brain.
