    Other ways to find lease?

    Hello ladies and gents...

I've been looking for quite some time for a lease to no avail. Granted, I understand I'm being quite nit picky when it comes to what I'm looking for (2 hrs from Ft Worth and under a certain $, especially in the economic times we're in and my industry.)

I've tried (and will continue to search on) TBH, TPWD Lease Listing, a Texas hunting Facebook group, and I've called various some city and counting Chamber's of Commerce.

I was hoping to avoid paying for one of the sites that help you find leases, as well as craigslist. What other alternatives have I not tried? Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance.

Networking is the best way. Make a trip to the area you have interest. Stop at the local feed store, cafe, etc. and let everybody know you are looking for a lease. Have some cards and posters printed up. Stick them on every cork bulletin board you see. Most rural post offices have a bulletin board. Ask around for some landowner names and contact them. If they don't have anything they might know someone who does.

That is what I was about to say. One of the best leases I ever had was found by posting a small “hunting lease wanted” sign on the bulletin board at a feed store. A guy called us who’s mom had just died and he leased us her ground. It is a long shot but you have to cast a wide net.

M16, Jerp, great info... I really appreciate it. In 2 weeks I should have some free time. I may take the boy out for a day trip around town and throw up some ads on some boards.

Figured I could also link to my original post: https://discussions.texasbowhunter.c...d.php?t=767901 I have relaxed some of the wants in a lease so if you have something that fits some of this, please give me a shout!
