    Directional feeder help.?

    Guys,
Any of y’all running directional feeders in an area without a box/tank blind etc...?

I plan on hoisting a barrel way up and feeding straight down. Lease is two hours away and we are A busy young family. this will be my way of hand Corning consistently.

So a Directional unit will be a backup plan. Thinking I could brush in a direction very well. Maybe tuck it in some trees and burlap it as well. Anyone doing this in a hardwood pine transition line near creek bottom...?

Will be in a tall ladder stand most likely.

I use a couple One and Done tree feeders for that very purpose, only I strap them to a tree instead of hanging them. They are built very well, thicker metal than a barrel, can be used on the ground or strapped to a tree. The only con is the plate that sits over the motor lets corn dust into the motor compartment. I fixed that with a little calk and if you ever need to remove the plate a box cutter will remove the calk and allow you to access the motor. Very good feeder IMO. It does have a lid that will nold water but I use a lid for a 30 gallon drum over the top. They are 100% coon proof !

      Thanks DC!

I have a plastic 45g drum. Thinking about rigging that up maybe. But definitely will look into the above.

Plastic where there are squirrels = chewed holes in plastic drum. BAD IDEA.

We have used them a bunch and have plenty of squirrels and haven't had that issue, but it's possible

Our squirrels are two busy chewing on our seat pads...

I had some of the foam stadium seat pads in my ladder stand and forgot about them, the next weekend the squirrels had shredded them.

If you don’t decide to build your own, check out the Texas Hunter Directional. We make them in 300 LB, 400 LB, 500 LB units.

As the industry leader in directional fish feeders we are seeing the units become more and more popular as deer feeders. They have many benefits when throwing corn down roads, sendaros, pipelines, into feeder pens, etc. They are truly 100% varmint proof, tuck nicely in the brush, and easy to fill, etc.

I’ve never seen these work in person, but I’ll say that I have several THP feeders on 55gallon drums that have been working without a hitch for over twenty years. Good product !
