    Spot Hogg fast Eddy XL

I bought the three pin fast Eddie today and I am convinced that their instructions are the worst that I have ever seen. Does anyone else have this sight? I don’t understand how the single pointer works with the three pin sight.

The 3 pins won't work except at the initial yardages you set them up at. Lets say you set them at 20, 30, and 40. If you adjust your dial so the top pin is at 60, your other 2 pins might only be worth 4 yards each rather than the initial 10 yards each. Basically, the 3 pins are really only good at a fixed distance and then once you turn the dial it becomes a single pin sight.

Do I sight the calibration tape in with the bottom pin? Maybe that doesn’t matter but when my top pin is on at 20 yards, wouldn’t the pointer be at 40 where the bottom pin is aimed at?

Sight your top pin for 20 or whatever preferred distance you want and adjust the 2nd and 3rd pin for 10 yd increments (typically 20, 30, 40) and then when you want to reach out longer you dial for the 3rd pin. I believe spott hogg tells you sight at 20 and then 60 and find the tape that matches best.

Sight your bottom pin in at 20. Apply calibration tape with pointer at 20. Then sight bottom pin in (again) at 60. Obviously you will have rolled the sight down to one of the numbers on the calibration tape. Remove calibration tape and apply whatever number it came up With (Pointer should be on the 60 yard mark) and then move pointer to 40. Now Sight in top two pins at 20 and 30 by moving the pins only.

That is what I needed to know. Thank you very much. The guy at the bow shop told me to use the top pin and it didn’t make sense to me

I have the 2 pin version. I sighted my TOP pin in at 20. Applied the calibration tape (with the top pointer on the 20 mark on the calibration tape). Then I dialed with my TOP pin till I got zeroed in at 60. The pointer on the calibration tape was on “17”. Then dial back to exactly 20yds with the pointer. Apply the “17” sight tape with the top pointer on 20. Now, my top pin is good at 20yds. By bottom (2nd) pin is good at 35yds. Anything past that, I will dial the top pin.
