Whose son just graduated with a EE degree?

Someone posted recently that their son just graduated with an EE degree and was looking for a job in San Antonio, but I can't find the thread.

My company is going to hire an entry-level engineer to work in our San Antonio office. We make AC motor speed controllers that are used in clean room applications.

We need someone who can perform field installations (travel required), build and program control systems in the office, create and maintain documentation, and troubleshoot customer problems over the phone.

If you know someone who fits the above description and wants to work in San Antonio, send me PM.

I'll watch this thread in case anyone has questions.

It was my boy. PM me your contact info & I'll pass along the opportunity to Kenny & see if he feels it's a fit...I find it interesting you would have EE's doing the actual on site field installations. I worked in Mfg / Mexico for 15 years & made wire harnesses & electronic sub-assemblies.

Those sparky's are a different breed & while brilliant in what they do, it was very unusual to see one that knew what end of a wrench to use. Some of the most comical scenes I've witnessed were on the DeWALT floor when 1st running sample lots of new products were launching between sparky's & the engineers that actually had to develop the lines & get the parts into production.

        Appreciate reaching out.

        Paul

Our San Antonio office is a few blocks north of 410, west of 281 on Broadway Street.

Our company is very small, so the engineers have to be capable of performing installations and troubleshooting. Most often customers will install the hardware themselves, and only require our engineers on-site to complete final software configuration and to be present when new clean rooms are being certified.

I sent you a PM with my contact information. As a father who has spent considerable time in the electronics manufacturing industry, you have questions so feel free to ask.

Early on it was with a small family biz where I landed the Black & Decker / outdoor consumer business before DeWALT came in & B&D went overseas.

I then moved on to Maverick Electronics (parque del norte in Reynosa) which was the red headed custom cable division step child of Heilind Electronics. Their main business was electronic distribution of components & is a great success story of a business that you hear of that literally started in a garage. Mav was a very small portion compared to their worldwide disty / component biz.

I really miss it & was fortunate to work with some great companies. We made products that went into a bunch of household names be it consumer, professional, automotive & medical...it's been 5 years but Mexico changed & just wasn't worth it anymore.

                  We'll talk...appreciate ya.

I've watched him build his own PC's that resemble an arcade so he's capable of using the mechanical side of his brain in what he understands and/or is interested in.

It's pretty fascinating how we are 'wired' as I have no interest or care to learn any of his interests - mine being mechanical minded...all I want to do is turn my pc on & have it work much less want to assemble one. I can put most pre-fab furniture and what not together in short order by looking at the pic on the packaging where kenny goes step by step w/ the directions.

Showed me his homework one time that looked like upside down Chinese trig w/ wavey lines...vibrations or something, but I can sure get back on the road before him if I get a flat!! I'll be done before he finds the right page in the owners manual.
