I just wanted to let some of you guys know that suffer from severe allergies and sinus congestion of a minor surgery I had yesterday.
A little back story on me... for the last two years, I have suffered from severe congestion/allergies. I was the guy who had to keep a bottle of Afrin in my pocket, by the nightstand, in my truck, etc. and used it 6-8 times per day just to get some relief. I've tried Zyrtec, Claritin, daily doses of local honey, I have seen my PCP, allergy specialist, and ENT before finally finding a doctor in Longview that diagnosed with enlarged turbinates. (Dr. Ronald Morton if anybody wants to know. 901 Pegasus Lane in Longview). I was to the point where 90% of my breathing was through my mouth.
Well two weeks ago, he put my on a high dosage of Prednisone for a two week trial and set up a follow up appointment for yesterday to see if that would help me. Long story short, the steroids didn't help, so he immediately recommended an In-office procedure called a Turbinate Reduction. I gladly accepted and after a 10 minute procedure (minor pain), I am 100% clear of any congestion at all. I can't tell you the immense feeling I had after being able to take a deep breath through my nose and not be stopped up. I can only relate it to stepping outside in really cold air and taking a deep breath through your nose and your brain/head starts to tingle. I got the best sleep of my life last night and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND anybody that has severe allergies to check into the Turbinate Reduction procedure. (supposed to help with my sleep apnea also)
Anyway, I just wanted to pass that along to any of the guys on here who might be suffering from the same symptoms.
