The reason I dont want tilt and trim is there is no give if you hit something. Also if you want it to kick up you have to get a break away or kick up mount. Kinda like a jack plate that's on a hinge.
Looks like some outboards are interference so if the timing belt goes you loose the whole power head. Also looks like suzuki is timing chain but are notorious for a pressed on gear slipping and causing timing issues
I am a Yamaha guy. But, I hear a lot of great things from folks running Tohatsus.
I really like my Tohatsu, it’s a 150. I went from burning 65 gallons of gas with my 200 2 stroke to burning 15 gallons on the same trip with the 150 Tahatsu.
I’ve got a Yamaha 50 2 stroke I got with a bit I bought on here. But if I was looking at at 2020 the merc 60’s are impressive same with the hatsu 50’s if I went yam I would buy the 70 since it’s almost the same weight
