My son killed his first deer this past winter and it was an Axis doe. I wanted surprise him with a nice looking hide with felt backing not just the tanned hide. I’m looking for recommendations in the Houston,Spring,Tomball or Conroe area. And does anyone know what the going price is.

Thats a great idea! My taxidermist handled mine for my black bear. It was sent to a lady that specializes in that. That was years ago but it might have been around $600 or $800.....but dont quote me. "Woods & Water" right next to Conroe Taxidermy...... either should send you in the right direction.

If you can’t find anyone to line it with felt, axis hides look great on the floor without it!! I have several all thru my house.
