Another year gone by, and time to go sweat a little.
This year is the 13th time for this hunt. It started small. Some years we had to pickup a few extras, but through it all, many new friends have been made. This year, we've got 30 people on the books; roughly half hunting and the other half just come out for the festivities. Rocky Top can sleep 24, if every bed is full. There are a few that sleep in a tent, and some bring campers of their own. The food is always good and the entertainment is fantastic.
This year is probably the most special for me because Konnor finally decided that he wants to go. He says he wants to hunt, but we'll see how that plays out when the moment arrives. If I was a betting man, I'd say he's not going to want to shoot, and that's OK with me. I'm overjoyed just having him spend the weekend away from civilization.
I know that y'all don't expect any live coverage anymore, so the pictures will probably trickle in Sunday night or Monday.
If there are bottles being passed, it'll be to pour it into a cup ... no slobber swapping this weekend. Social distancing is an issue, so I know we'll all be safe.
