    UTV Hunting / Ranch Use

Seeking feedback for a dependable UTV (Mule/Polaris/Honda) type vehicle for general hunting and ranch use. Would prefer seating capacity for up to 4. Use in hilly rocky terrain. Some teenage use so speed is not desired, but sturdy driveable platform is.

I have one of the original Trans Mules. I love it. My kids love it too. It's been very dependable. This year Kawasaki fixed the two issues I have with mine. They now have fuel injection and power steering. The Ranger is faster. But the Mule has stood the test of time. Kawasaki was the company in the UTV market. If you want speed get a Ranger. If you want a dependable vehicle that will go anywhere get a Mule. Just my two cents.

I just purchased an '09 Polaris Ranger... I had been planning on getting a mule for a while, but after doing a little research and a few test drives I ended up with the Ranger...

Going to add the Rumble seat in the bed to add carrying capacity...

Nothing compares to a Ranger. We bought 4 in 05 between me, my brothers, and Dog. We use them HARD. The Junco is large and we may have to drive 6 to 8 miles to get to a spot I don't want to dawdle in a mule. I don't have to drive 40 mph, but if I need to, I can. The ride is great. We've had virtually no problems fro any of them. You can put 20 sacks of protein and a boss buck and go put up a feeder. They are tanks, but dang near it. You can sit three in the front and put seats in the bed if you want to haul more people. Best 9 grand I ever spent. I really don't know how I got by without one,

Ranger all the way, they have been around for atleast 10 years so they are proven. If two much speed is an issue get one with the optional speed key that will limit the machine to 25mph as long as that key is in the ignition and use the regular key when you do not want to limit your speed.

                          very nice DamonJ

I love my ranger 500 and have hauled three adults and 20 bags of feed all over cotulla first year I got it. I use it daily here on the farm and pull fence with it, pulled a live donkey 1/2 mile as he was locked up sulling wife and kids love it, liked it so much I sold my 4 wheeler after getting it. I have had very little problems with mine over last 5 yrs. I ride it hard, work it and play with it and love it.

Do the Rangers run around 9 to 10K new? I just decided today to start researching the Rangers and Mules.
