    Scope recommendation - single shot

Picking up a Henry Single Shot in .243

I used to have one in 45-70 that was pretty sweet after swapping the trigger spring. It had a Leupold 2.5-8x36 on it.

I'm considering going that same route, but I really like my Meoptas and the 6x42 German Reticle might work really nice.

Target practice would be 500 and in. Hunting would be 300 and in.

Anyone have a preference on one of these scopes given this rifle?

Gratuitous pic of old rifle included

That would be a great idea for when my little boy gets old enough to shoot. Single shot and I love the .243.

They make it in a youth stock also!

After this thread, I'm thinking that I need one now! Glad my wife doesn't follow TBH. I'm going to look at Henry online and order a magazine.

Heck yeah. When you get ready to buy, check out Academy. Best prices I've found even including taxes.

Wow, I didn't even think about Academy carrying them. Thanks for the info. Magazine ordered.

How's the trigger on your Henry? I looked at those recently and heard mixed reviews on the trigger.

Sweet looking rifle! I'd suggest a Leupold with the CDS feature. Pretty handy for quick adjustments for various distances.

I have Zeiss and trijicon on my ruger 1’s. Both are great scopes.
