    Boat casting deck question..

The wife and I decided we are going to be in the market for a boat this winter. Weve decided a center console would best fit our wants... but... she wants some seating in the front, instead of a plain casting deck.

1.) Which boat do yall have in mind that had some additional seating up front for cruising, kids, etc..

2.) Is there any manufacturers that sell a removable casting deck, specifically for this purpose?

    Thanks in advance!

If I was looking for additional seating, I’d opt for it behind the console. Up front will beat you to pieces. Just a thought.

We have a single console Skeeter bass boat. Getting all 5 of us and a cooler in it is snug. We still pull a tube and fish. Been wanting to take the family out in a pontoon boat.

If you google search dual mount fishing seat you'll find them. Lots of crappie guys use them. Mounts into a standard fishing seat pole mount, allows you to run two chairs side by side.

If you're ordering a new boat I'm sure you can just tell them to install two seat mounts up front.

Most extra seating in center consoles is on the back of the boat.

            Exactly and for good reason!

Op in general on a flats or bay boat any seating in front of the center console.. be prepared to get beat to death with any bit is substantial chop.

Pleasure boats for the lake, are generally deep v boats which are much smother in the chop. Thus allowing seating at the front of the boat like a fish and ski or just a pleasure boat.

Our casting deck sits lower than flush...I'd prefer flush for fishing but this works well for what your wanting. I had a cushion made that fits the deck. Can lay/sit on it while cruising or throw it in the back of the truck/leave at home if just fishing and you have a normal casting deck.

Mine has the two bucket seats at the helm, a bench seat on the rear deck, and a 125 yeti with a cushion in front of the console. Easily seats 6. More if they are kids or skinny.

Polar kraft bay boat and nautic star hybrids both have center consoles with seats up front. Definitely the roughest spot in the boat

Thanks for the replies. We arent looking for a bay boat or skiff specifically.. we are okay with a v hull due to 99% of the time we will be on local lakes.

Buy some of the real nice folding deck chairs. Use them when cruising. Leave them home when fishing.

                            Hurricane GS211 Center Console

Here is the one I sold. Loved the boat, just not enough time to use it.
