2020/2021 east texas hunting thread

Saturday was unreal. Today was slower but Lola killed a gargantuan doe at “the doe stand”... and seen a lone doe and 2 bucks this evening. 1 was a 7.5yo 8pt target of hers.... to dark to take the shot. She was devastated!

I moved a ladder stand to a trail where I found some nice bucks skirting my stand/feeder set up. Nice thing is it’s easy access so I can bike to within 100 yards are so and be in and ready without making a bunch of commotion or walking in where deer could likely be.

I'm not as far east as some of you guys but I still havent seen hardly any rut activity. In the last week I had a mock scraped get freshened up but that is the only thing I have seen. I'm in van zandt county.

Although my lease is in Trinity we have a farm in Anderson County. Trinity is bumping right now but historically speaking where we are in AnCo it should just kind of be getting started.

Took this week away from the stand and have a hill country doe harvest this weekend. But will be back in the tree's next week starting Monday. Hoping its not too wet.
