Well finally made it back to the house last night from Anderson County. Hunted Satuday - Monday morning. Saturday hunt was a great hunt! had deer movement all day long. I missed what would have been my first buck with a bow. Im fairly new to bow hunting (3 years) and been using boom sticks all my life.

Sunday hunt was slow all day. Didn't see anything but hogs but did take some aggression out on them. Broadheads don't discriminate.

Monday hunt had movement early before daylight and even had another great buck in range before daylight but left before shooting light and didn't see anything but hogs after that.

Was a very exciting hunt and learned a lot.

I’ve been getting tons of pics since last Thursday. Still getting several mature bucks moving day and night. Didn’t get to hunt last weekend, now I have to wait for rifle opener before I’ll get back that way.

Does anyone know a tracking dog in the Grapeland/Crockett area? I thought I rememeber reading there was someone in the area.?.

If not, any suggestions? And is it even possible with this misty and already wet conditions?

Great. Thank you. It has not come in yet, but I am on cellular so it might just be slow.

But this is what I am working with.

I hit him a little forward than I wanted, so probably went through the shoulder. But found the arrow and blood is a deep red on it. Only problem is no splatter anywhere around it or in between.

Do you, or anyone have thoughts on this?

No sir, not yet. I looked for a couple hours last night until my batteries went dead, but with everything wet and started to rain finding blood was impossible.

I sent a text to a dog tracker contact GarGuy gave me, but I have not heard back.

I am going back out here shortly to do more grid searching. Hoping this morning I get lucky.
