Ok got the lower unit in, started taking the old off but cannot figure out how to get the old drive shaft out of the old unit. I have seen several videos of a unit swap but none show how to get this shaft out.
      Anyone have any experience?

Drive shaft? Or shift shaft? I assume that's like the smaller evinrude motors and there is a shift linkage up under the cowling you have to disconnect. Then it slides right out. Make sure it's in neutral before you disconnect.

Every one I've fooled with once you disconnect that shift link just slide right off. If its original maybe its corroded up or something?

I'm not a real mechanic. Check some youtube videos before you take a hammer to it! Good luck.

Man I have and can usually find what I need. I believe my problem is the collar that the water pump impeller mounts on shaft is stuck. I’m gonna soak it tomorrow and hope it comes off.
