What can y’all tell me about Kingsland

I am taking the wife to kingsland next month. What is there to do there. I know about the surrounding towns but never been into kingsland.

Small town...Every time that I have been, I have just enjoyed the lake. I bet it is packed right now. Played golf one year at PackSaddle. It's not a bad course at all when you are used to playing the same ol courses back home.
I like to fish Buchanan, great lake!

Went there a few years ago and enjoyed the lakes did some fishing etc. Grand central cafe is a cool place with good food

Kingsland is a mess. Keep things locked up while your there, thievery is a full time profession over there. There are so nice areas but for the most part is not real nice. Was voted dirtiest town in Texas a few years back if I remember right.

She wanted a different type hotel so we are staying in one of the railroad cars. Plan on eating at grand central. After having my truck stolen I don’t leave anything in this one anymore.

It’ll be fine. Its unincorporated and has a tendency to attract bad elements to the area. When I worked task force, it was on of the towns I worked in. Lots of good people in the area, just over shadowed by the turds.

No liquor store in town, 1/2 crazy people 1/2 ‘“ normal “ folks has a H‑E‑B and a golf course

Go to slab on the Llano and enjoy the low water crossing.

Grandparents lived there for 25 years. One of my favorite places. Haven’t been back through there though in a few years.

I've been there many times and never had an issue with anything or anyone. It's a blast if you ask me.

Wake Point is pretty good place to hang out, good burgers and cold beer. Usually have entertainment on weekends. Boat town another place to hang out and have a drink. They have full bar. For a good breakfast Dam Grill in Buchanan Dam is good. It’s about 8-10 miles away.

As for the Slab on weeks
Did you will see Kingsland finest out in full force. I wouldn’t go to the slab it’s turned kind of into a **** hole

I have a weekend home there and my deer lease is there as well. I love the little town.
Is there some riff raff there? Yes, but I’ve never had one issue, either while somewhere “in town”, at my house, or at my deer lease, which is in walking distance from the slab.

When will you be in town? I’ll be up the last week of July.

I hate to hear the negativity about Kingsland, I love it here. I’m on the Llano arm it’s like living in the country and being five minutes from the H-E-B, got a love it. I kayak daily so if you’re around and would like to do some kayaking let me know I have five.
