    AK Build thread

I haven’t seen any posts about AK’s I know there’s a select few of us building them. Post up your builds I want to see them! Tips and pointers welcome! I’m starting a couple big boys today usually takes me an afternoon per kit. Top is a 1.5 stamped M70 Yugo kit that I had the barrel cerakoted by a buddy. The bottoms is a 1.5 stamped Romanian RPK. I love these things, I’ll post up a few past ones I’ve built also.

        Following.
I have built many AR's. Own two AK's and a AK pistol But outside of shooting them and changing a grip handle, a safety lever on an AK or variant. The only thing I know is that they need to be sec 922r compliant when building them. That is having a certain amount of USA made parts for compliance.

You’re Right about the 922r compliant parts, depending on the options your AK has when building (stock options, using imported mags, or muzzle devices) varies how many us made parts you need. These are just a few of the ones I’ve built so far. Having trouble getting some other build pics off my phone.

They are fun guns to shoot. Very simple to break down for cleaning, but all the rivets and the guns crudeness always kept me away from wanting to upgrade it and mess with it. I did add Magpul grips to mine. It made a big difference in control.
Those look battle-worn. Only dropped once

Just finish this Romanian PM 90. It was a parts kit that was never built fully virgin kit (every part has to be meticulously fit) from M and M industries. Man are these a pain compared to the surplus parts kits that are demilled and imported.
