Yep, diamond-back watersnake. These are the little *******s that give water moccasins a bad rap. Wading in the San Gabriel the other day, I missed stepping on a cotton-mouth by about an inch and a half, and it never moved. A few minutes later a Diamondback swam 20 yards just to post up in front of me all ****** off, and then strike at my leg. Cottonmouth got a pass, Diamondback got the fish spear.

I figured it was a water snake due to pond about 100 yds from house and just mowed pasture on Sunday an then been seeing alot of frogs an then wife an son outside this morning an then she sees our begal pouncing and then it came after her as she moved the grass with a shovel.
