    Truck bed opinion

Ok got 2 payments left on my truck 2014 Chevy sportsman ( HD 1/2 ton) And probably don’t need a new truck @ 50,000 miles

Really tired / old to climbing up in the bed to fetch tools ( out of the cross bed box) and ice chest , ect and also tired of garbage in my bed and trying to clean it up

    Options
1 CM flatbed ( see picture)
    2. Deckedinside the bed toolbox (see picture)

    Opinions are?

    Thanks for the advice

Man I sure like the idea of the decked box. Kinda doubles what you can put back there. If it weren't for my gooseneck I would have one now.

between those 2 choices, the decked bed would be my choice. More versatility.

Was kinda leaning towards a decked , but have some concerns

          1. Can I still haul stuff like firewood or hay / feed with out it getting down in the cracks

          2. If so is it easy to clean

          Ease of maintenance?

Well sir, guess that depends on the quality of the top deck. If it is designed for weight and is pretty tight, then yeah, you'd probly OK. If not, you may want to put a tarp down for any debris getting in the underside. But then, again, would that be an issue?

Have a local welding shop build you a flat bed with diamond plate top. Skirt it down the sides with tool boxes under the bed. Best set up there is.

A few of us have made truckbed storage. I did mine for about $300. Here's a link to a thread here on TBH:

Yes hay and feed , firewood pieces will require some maintenance to manage

I'll be adding a fold down step on the tailgate of mine. I had a buddy on a job site that got a king ranch with the fold down step off the tailgate. We gave him alot of crap over his little ladder step that folded down.....now at 57 I want one. In retrospect it was pretty handy.
