Want to replace leaning post

I am wanting to replace the leaning post in my center console with captains chairs.

Has anyone done this? Any recommendation on brands or what to not buy?

Just starting to research it so I know nothing.

I’ve had both. Started with a leaning post and just had to have captains chairs. Once I had the captains chairs I realized that I preferred the leaning post.

You will have much more limited visibility with the captains chairs.

Does your leaning post have a backrest? If it doesn’t, replace it with one that does.

Bought a leaning post this weekend from someone moving to capt chairs.

I like the look of captain chairs but like the storage under my leaning post. When we go it looks like we looted academy

What did u like better about the leaning post?

I couldn’t see anything sitting down in the captains chairs looking through the tinted windshield. So I always ended up standing so I could see. The chairs have a bigger footprint which makes them much harder to walk around. Lastly is storage, the under seat storage box on the leaning post was a quick and easy place to store small items. Now all those small items end up on the dash hampering your ability to see while seated. Also, there is no room underneath the chairs for a cooler.
