Homeownership is fun, isn’t it? Did both my inside and outside units in the last two years...that stung a bit.

I just had to put about 3.5# of Freon in my r22 unit. Luckily I still have another 5# or so and I’ll fill it up when it gets low again. Took 2 years since last small charge up, I’m not replacing until I have to!

I feel your pain. I had to replace the furnace, evaporator coil and the compressor on the outside unit all within the last 18 months

Well...I think I got ripped off....

Long story short I was in the hospital, on my death bed basically 2 years ago....

wife called when it went out....got home a week or so later and had a
CArrier Infinity VFD motor and outside unit with touch screen thermostat....

                    VS 19 system,

we had dual zone in the house....

I priced the unit itself and found it for $1400.....so basically paying $1500 labor to install....reconnect drain lines and recharge the system with 410 coolent

                    Still think its high tho
