Pathslayer Mowers Implements for trimming shooting lanes

I’ve decided to pull the trigger on a front end loader mounted rotary cutter for trimming shooting lanes. My John Deere dealer has proposed a Pathslayer mower for my JD5065E 65 hp 4wd tractor. I like that the Pathslayer has a hot dipped galvanized deck and is manufactured in Beaumont.

I have a friend who has a Lane Shark that looks similar functionally. He likes it but barely has used it once.

Does anyone here have any experience with either they could share?
Their video shows it operated on tractors without cages around front protecting operator and also mounted on tractors with cabs. I’m interested in safety and ease of switching positions of the deck.

Operator safety would be my first priority. Just not the thrill seeker that I used to be.

I have the Path Slayer and love it, I started out looking at the Lane Shark but it was lighter and required a high flow hydraulic attachment to the tractor while the Path Slayer is happy with standard remote hydraulics.

I made a thread about it, search My new favorite tractor implement.

I ordered the Path Slayer brush cutter this morning from
my John Deere dealer/ friend. I’m stoked and will post my progress. At age 66, I’m tired of pole chain saws and loppers on ladders every pre season. I’ve abused my younger sons by delegating this duty in later years and I’m not sure which of us will be happier if this thing does as advertised!

When you first hook it up work it from the down limit to the up limit while someone watches for clearance. On my Kubota the JD quick connects mashed the grease zerts on my bucket dump cylinders.

Thanks for that tip! My JD dealer is mounting it, making the hydraulic hoses, and testing it on an identical unit to mine. Then they’re delivering the Pathslayer unit and hydraulic hoses to me about 2 hrs north of them. I will be able to watch for the zert fitting clearance when we test it.
