    Pool shade

We have no trees on the south and west side of our pool. Wife found these on Pinterest. Big planters with 50lbs quickcrete in the bottom with pvc pipe in the middle. Soil on top part for flowers. Going to paint them up shortly.

    Good idea.
Surprised your pool builder didn’t put umbrella holes around the pool edge.

We have one hole on each side but they’re for volleyball net. We’ve used them for umbrellas too. Shades on south side is great cause that’s the side the benches are on.

Cool! You can still get more umbrella sleeves drilled in your deck if you want.

And hope they don't hit a return line, lol. I have seen that happen before.

I wanted them every 8' on my deck but since the wife was footing the pool bill, I got vetoed.

Good idea by your wife, that looks like it will work nice for shade on pool. That’s a beautiful pool you got, really dig the rocks in background, congratulations. You know this but be sure to take those wind turbines down before any storms blow through or you might have flowers floating in pool and dirt on pool bottom. Good shade solution, and painting them will fit the planters in with that nice pool.

I hope the lines are deeper than that. Mine are 18-24” below the bottom of the concrete.

An umbrella sleeve cost next to zero. Better to install and not use then skip them and need them.

You can drill a sleeve hole in the coping/beam around 5”. Nowhere near a return line plus you can id where they are. Even if you go in the deck you can’t go deep enough to coming close to hitting one.
