    SkiDril T post driver

    Anybody have the Hydraulic version?

I remember a thread about the gas version being good. Im thinking of buying a hydraulic one instead. Anytime we are building a fence there is a tractor around. And i hate small gas engines. Let them setup an they go to crap quick.

    Anyone have any input?

We have the HP16. They work great and will drive a t post in a few seconds but you do need to get the settings right on your hydraulics. I would also recommend getting at least 40’ of hose so your not moving the tractor as often. It will make it heavier but worth it in my opinion.
I should also note once your set up it absolutely beats the hell out of a tpost driver.

Anything beats the hell out of a manual T Post driver, unless you are the one directing and supervising!

        Can you rent the devices?

Built a couple of pens last year with a hydraulic driver. Really heavy. But drove steel posts into rock / rocky soil easily.
Hope that fellow never wants them removed.
Used a bobcat to lift and lower the driver on the second pen. Takes at least two or three guys to make that work.

I have the 2-cycle version and we have used the heck out of it! It works like a champ. I’d buy it again in a heartbeat.

That little Honda motor on mine runs great for me.

Ordered the HP18 today. I needed to be able to drive 2-7/8 & 2-3/8 as well.

It wasnt cheap but i think it will be well worth it! Ive just got to much gasoline and diesel equipment as it is that i work on 24/7 so anytime i can just go plug it in and use it im all for it.

Anybody ever used a Stanley like this one:

The Stanley PD45 Post Driver is a heavy duty tool for driving a wide range of posts including #2, #3, & #4 lb/ft "U" channel, #3 & #4 Strong Back "U" channel, #1 delineator, up to 2-5/8 inch round, or up to 2-1/2 inch square posts. Ideal fo for DOT applications to drive breakway post to within 4 inches above ground level.

                      Can't figure it out.

I have the gas one from home depot. It works pretty alright.

I thought about getting one of these. I am just a stickler for level posts and i couldnt see getting them level on a standard tractor. If you have a skid steer then i could see it working great.

I have a Schaffer Post Driver 3PT with hydralic tilt, pan etc and even with all that its a pain in the ***** to get level.

I felt like i could have someone running the level and 1 person operating it and it go pretty smooth. And we have to drive 2-7/8 down in creeks beds and in the sides of the banks for cattle swing gates so i felt like this one would be more versatile.

I know they are made by somebody else. Maybe skidril idk. I know they make hyd chainsaws, pole saws etc. Alot of it is used for utility work. I would think it works the same.
